Modern business park modern to replace Farsons factory at Imrieħel

Farsons historic factory at Imrieħel is being converted into a modern business park with half of the space consisting of offices for 1,500 workers and the other space will be for gardens and recreation.

The project, an investment of almost €50 million, is scheduled to be completed within two years. The business park, which will be run by Trident Estates, is planned following the restructuring of Farsons brewery which made it possible for the commercialisation of the space.

Trident Estates chief executive, Charles Xuereb, said that the park’s development is intended to safeguard the environment with similar effect to a building in a campus.

“The project includes seven five-storey blocks above the ground, and between each six blocks there are six gardens, facilities that include a conference hall, a gym and also food and drinks outlets”.

Despite that the project was launched a few months ago, Mr Xuereb said that the commercial interest is encouraging especially from legal industries firms, gaming and financial services. “The plan is that we have the first tenants at the building at the start of 2021, that is in less than two years”.

As part of the project, Farsons contributed €350,000 for the recreational space for the community, facing the same site which was restored into the Ġnien tal-Ħaddiem (Worker’s Garden) and which will be administered by the Birkirkara Local Council
